Hi, I’m Manuel (or Cervus - whatever you prefer), a thirty-something English, History, Civic Education and Digital Literacy teacher originating from and living in Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹.
FORESTWEEKENDER is me experimenting with blogs for the first time after many years of mindless consumption of social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit. I want this to be a safe space for me experimenting with and sharing my writing which mostly consists of random thoughts, microfiction and at some point probably snippets of bigger projects. Hoping to find a community that inspires and challenges me creatively, I want to hold myself responsible for my content and its more or less steady publication.
As a 🏳️🌈 gay man (he/him), I strive for open-minded and respectful conversation and if you don’t want to read about queer issues from time to time, this might not be a blog for you. But who knows, maybe I can convince you to reflect on the state of the world and actively work on making it a better place for everyone.
Most of my time is consumed by my day job as a teacher and other activities surrounding this profession. However, I look forward to spending time filling my tiny little space on the internet and getting to know you.
